The fibretemp® system is extremely versatile in its use. Wherever a thin-heating layer is desired or required, the fibretemp® system comes into the picture. Due to the good drapeability of heating carbon fibre fabrics, even complex geometries can be equipped with a CRP heating.
The construction of heated moulds for producing fibre composite components and preform parts are the focus here. However, even moulds for rotational moulding of thermoplastics can be implemented through the use of high heat resistant cyanate ester resin systems. Application temperatures up to 260 °C have already been achieved.
Another field of application of CRP heating is the defrosting of or maintaining ice-free the surfaces of rotor blades of wind turbines and aircraft wings; in satellite antennas or drainage pipes.
The possible applications of thin-layer low-voltage heating elements are versatile.
In E-Mobility, CRP heating helps in keeping at bay the loss of capacity of batteries in cold weather. Interior heaters of electric cars can be integrated virtually "free of space constraints" into surfaces such as side panels.
